You walked party in the New Year, but the servers of WhatsApp sudaron la gota gorda.

The instant messaging platform most used worldwide, said the New Year’s eve of 2017 became the busiest day in the history of WhatsApp, the process 63,000 million messages at the global level.

Of these messages, 7,900 million, including a photograph, while 2,400 million were videos, says WhatsApp in the brief statement.

the record on The last day of the year is the icing on the cake that it was the 2016 to WhatsApp. This year was one of the most important in terms of the launch of new features, such as the launch of the support for GIFs, encrypted from beginning to end (end-to-end encryption) and, perhaps more relevant, video calls.

however, the year that has passed was also one very controversial for the platform with more than 1,000 million users per month. The platform announced that it will share information of users with Facebook, its parent. This was a hard blow to users, as Facebook had informed that there would be no exchange of information.

despite the new features, and the opposition, WhatsApp has continued to grow. When Facebook took him under his mantle to WhatsApp in 2014, the platform had around 450 million users, users who managed to maintain since its launch in 2010. Thanks –or not– to Facebook, in just two years, that user base has increased by more than double.
