¿Order your Twitter timeline sorted by relevance? – FORTUNE

MEXICO CITY (CNNExpansión) – Twitter is testing a new format for timeline in which the tweets would be accommodated by relevance rather the chronological order that has distinguished the network.

The tests were disclosed after some users publish pictures of your timeline and network executives confirmed to several media what was happening. “It’s an experiment,” said a spokesman for the company The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.

“We are still exploring ways to highlight the best content for people who use Twitter,” the US official added daily.

In recent months Twitter has launched several functions in order to attract new users. The last was to change the “favorites” function “like”, which are now marked with hearts instead of stars.

Other updates have been the inclusion of surveys and the While You Were function , which highlights the tweets posted during the time that has not entered the net.

Twitter has faced a difficult year. Its shares have fallen and reported lower growth than expected users.

Jack Dorsey, Twitter co-founder, took over as CEO in October with a mission to restore the popularity of social network. The executive has referred repeatedly to the future you want for the network, which ensures to be simplified.

“We will question the chronological timeline,” he said in July, according to the newspaper. “We continue to question our foundations for the easier more accessible for those products,” he said.

The shift to a timeline by relevance mean a giant leap for Twitter, whose main feature was the dissemination of information in real time since it began nine years ago.
