WhatsApp is for combat one of the common lies: “I’m coming.”

The account @WABetaInfo on Twitter found evidence in a beta of the app WhatsApp that indicate that users will be able to share your location in real time and for a definite period of time. A function that, apparently, will only in groups and not in chats, one-to-one.

The publication says that the function is turned off by default, something obvious due to that WhatsApp would be testing the function of gradually with a small group of users (as is usually done). The function would be available once WhatsApp the active from their servers.

This function would have several configuration options: the time to share would be 1, 2, 5-minute and indefinitely. The members of the group would choose the time to disclose your location depending on the reason for doing so. For example, to know the time of arrival of the members of the group to a party or gathering point.

The tweet says that the betas have this feature is the 2.17.3.28 in the app for iOS, while on Android is the version 2.16.399. Taking into account that the public version of iOS is 2.17.2, should not take much to see this feature among the general public.

WhatsApp not cease with the updates. Officially, this week the application on iOS won new features, like the ability to send messages even when you don’t have an Internet connection at the time. Also, you can now send more than 10 media files in the same shipment.
