This Friday unveiled captured by the color filters of Osiris instrument, the Rosetta spacecraft images that suggest the presence of ice neck of Comet 67P / Churyumov-Gerasimenko, called region Hapi.

The information was released by the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research (MPS) from its headquarters in Goettingen, Germany.

According to EFE, images studied by computer scientists Osiris show that the neck of the comet reflects red light less effectively than most other regions, so its appearance is slightly blue.

This is common in the nuclei of comets and other primitive bodies such as asteroids.
