Apple will cut the price of its MacBook Pro in 2017: report – CNET in Spanish

Apple is preparing a new update to their MacBook Pro in 2017, which include new processors and a price cut, according to reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities.

The statements of the analyst were compiled by several sites, including MacRumors and 9to5Mac. According to Kuo, who usually athens in its reports, the price cut will be both for current models of the MacBook Pro, as to new models that will be presented this year.

One of the news — according to Kuo — for the new MacBook Pro, 2017 will be the increase of RAM up to reach to the capacity of 32GB. The models presented at the end of October will only go to 16GB RAM, but Apple says that this is to not consume the battery too much.

Kuo, however, puts a condition. The new Pro from Apple will come with 32GB in RAM memory if Intel launches time a new family of processors, known as Cannonlake.

The new processors Cannonlake will consume between 15 and 25 percent less battery power, in comparison with processors today, according to Kuo. If Intel is not able to launch the processors Cannonlake, Apple should use the processors Coffee Lake, also from Intel.

The price cut is something that Apple used in the first year of life of a new product, ” says Kuo, and he gives the example of the first generation of the MacBook Air, which came with a steep price but that it was gradually going down; currently the MacBook Air is the cheapest model of Apple in terms of notebooks.

Kuo also says that as more products USB Type-C to reach the market, more consumers will see the benefits of the ports of the MacBook Pro. Also, most third-party hardware will take advantage of the Touch Bar of the computers recently launched.

Apple released new MacBook Pro with a new slimmer design, improved performance, a keyboard with a redesign and, perhaps most importantly, the debut of the bar touch Touch Bar. However, users have criticized the high price of new computers.

CNET in Spanish asked for a comment to Apple. We will update this article when I get a reply.
