If you thought the fingerprint of new generation was wonderful, the people of Fujitsu has decided to go a step further by betting on the eyes as key security of our data on the smartphone.
Just by observing the technology of Japanese company, reminiscent of the palomera sci fi action Demolition Man or “The Homewrecker” in Latin America, starring Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes, where you can see a fairly explicit scene of one of the disadvantages of this technology, but good is pure fiction right?
Returning to reality, is that during the MWC 2015 Fujitsu has made clear that security is becoming increasingly important and that in turn each day are most sensitive data on your smartphone, data that many people can not compromise. Given this, they have decided to skip the security of fingerprint to use another part of the body such as the iris.
And it turns out that the iris, like fingerprint, has a unique pattern identifies us from cradle to grave and retains its same traits over time. Moreover, unlike the track, the iris is even more difficult to counterfeit.
To get this quality of the eyes, Fujitsu used a system consisting of an infrared LED and an infrared camera in the front of the phone. Thus, the LED emits light at a frequency appropriate to the human eye, allowing the camera to capture the unique characteristics of the eye and ocular and unlock the smartphone.
For now, the Japanese company intends to launch this terminal end of the year in Japan, where public acceptance analyze and decide whether to continue with this project or leave in oblivion
