Andy Grove dies, the man who transformed the Intel and pioneer of the PC – lagranepoca

The former adviser delegate Intel and American pioneer of personal computers (PC) Andy Grove died this Monday to 79 years, said the California company, specializing in the manufacture of microprocessors.

Intel did not specify in the statement the cause of death, although the US press said that Grove , Jewish native of Hungary who survived the Nazi occupation and emigrated when the country was part of the Soviet Union, had suffered from Parkinson’s disease.

Nationalized American, Grove was present at the founding of Intel in 1968, which became first president in 1979 and then CEO in 1987, and made the decision to change the core business of the company’s digital memory chips.

The front stage Grove Intel coincided with the boom of personal computers in the 90s, exponentially multiplied the benefits of the company and is considered in the sector one of the pioneers of the spread of personal computers, next to figures like Bill Gates ( microsoft) and Steve Jobs (Apple).
