Apple celebrates 40 years making history – Voice of America

On April tech giant is anniversary and celebrates a revolution in the history of personal computers.

Apple celebrates 40 years of existence and since its inception has managed to change the world of telecommunications accelerated and innovative way.

40 years ago, Apple Computer was founded by two men in a garage in Silicon Valley. Today is one of the largest companies in the world with more than 480 stores in 18 countries.

The impact of its founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak was unimaginable in 1976 when Apple was born and access to computers it was almost impossible.

“If you wanted to access a computer for personal use, the only way to do that was building it yourself,” engineer Bob Lash, who explains that he built his own computer in the mid-70′s said.

“I thought it was something ‘cool’. The idea that you can have a computer with a single board to which connects a keyboard, and is ready for use found something great” adds the engineer Lash.

functionality, simplicity, and it was ‘cool’ became the model followed Apple and its first great example of this came in 1984 with the arrival of the Macintosh.

“it’s not like a big computer and scary. in fact does not look like a computer. that was a big psychological decision, which took it on purpose, very conscious way. Make them as user friendly and less threatening as possible,” explains Dag Spicer History Museum computer.

This is how Apple changed the relationship with computers and Steve Jobs became a legend.
